Use heatmaps to find patterns without confusing missing data with low output.
Heatmaps place many readings next to each other so recurring patterns become visible. Unify provides a production heatmap for site comparison and an inverter heatmap for equipment analysis.
| View | Scope | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Production heatmap | Selected sites | Specific production in kWh/kWp |
| Inverter heatmap | Inverters under a selected site or AC node | Power in kW |
The units matter: an inverter power cell is not a day's energy total. A normalized production heatmap allows comparison of differently sized sites, provided their installed capacities are correct.
Each row represents an inverter; the horizontal axis is time. Inspect a contrasting cell in the context of its neighbours. Fictional demonstration data.
An isolated low-production cell may reflect cloud cover. A recurring daily pattern may relate to orientation or shading. A missing cell requires checking telemetry before concluding that output was zero. Compare similar devices and the same time interval.
The inverter heatmap uses supported ranges rather than an unrestricted year view. If the view offers pagination, CSV of this page exports that visible inverter page, not an implied complete account export. Use the general data-export workflow when you need a broader dataset.
A heatmap helps locate a pattern; it does not identify a physical fault by itself. Confirm the finding with readings, alarms and controller information, then create an action for follow-up.
