Connessione
La comunicazione tra il Sofar e il contatore di energia avviene tramite un bus seriale RS-485 o Modbus TCP.
Si raccomanda di utilizzare cavi schermati con coppie twistate per prestazioni ottimali. Per distanze brevi, può essere utilizzata una coppia twistata da un cavo di rete (minimo CAT5e).
Si applicano le seguenti linee guida:
- Distanza Massima: La lunghezza totale del cavo, comprensiva del cavo principale e delle diramazioni, è limitata a 100 metri.
- Collegamento di Più Contatori di Energia: Il cavo dovrebbe essere collegato a catena da contatore a contatore o ramificato dal cavo principale (le diramazioni non devono superare 1 metro).
- Distanze Lunghe: Si consiglia di installare una resistenza di terminazione da 120Ω alla fine del cavo principale e di attivare la resistenza di terminazione sul Sofar EMS.

- There is no general consensus in the industry about the usage of A and B for the RS485 polarity, so it may be counterintuitive and opposite of what you might expect for some devices.

NOTE: RS485 Device Addresses
- You MUST give each device on the RS485 bus a unique address. Check the manual of the device on how to do this.
- Use lower addresses first (1, 2, ...) because the Sofar EMS will find them faster!
- For each device, it is generally recommended to stick with the factory default baud rate, parity, and stop bits. The Sofar EMS will scan on those first.
