Switch selected boiler devices on or off during recurring local-time windows.
Use a boiler schedule to define recurring periods in which Controller must force a connected boiler on or off. Outside those periods, the boiler returns to the site's default control strategy.
This mode is intended for devices configured as a boiler in Controller. If a thermal load is configured as a relay, contactor or smart socket instead, use the Switched load schedule.
| Scheduled mode | Behaviour during the window | Typical purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Force on | Requests the selected boiler to run. | Heating water before a peak-price or grid-congestion period. |
| Force off | Requests the selected boiler to stop. | Avoiding consumption during a defined period. |
| Follow default control | Uses the site's normal Controller control strategy. | Returning explicitly to the standard energy-management behaviour. |
The boiler's own thermostat, temperature limits and safety functions remain responsible for safe operation.
| Days | Time | Mode | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every day | 13:00–15:00 | Force on | Use the expected solar-production period. |
| Monday–Friday | 17:00–20:00 | Force off | Avoid the evening peak. |
| All other times | — | Default control | Resume normal site optimisation. |
The boiler schedule is part of the external-signal priority system. A higher-priority signal overrides a lower-priority request.
Forced on and off commands are manual overrides. Normal minimum and maximum on, off or waiting times do not delay a forced schedule transition. Controller accounts for the requested boiler load before planning flexible assets such as EV chargers, batteries and PV control.
Make sure the schedule still provides enough heating time for the installation. Avoid rapid cycles and follow the boiler manufacturer's operating requirements.
Confirm that the device is configured with the boiler node type. Relay-controlled loads appear under the switched load schedule instead.
Check the boiler's thermostat, temperature limit and local safety conditions. Then review the device connection and the schedule status.
Review the External signals priority order. The highest-priority active request determines the resulting mode.
