Understand the optional tools attached to an installation or device.
The Features menu on a device is assembled dynamically. It only appears when at least one applicable feature is visible for that device type and role.
The available entries follow the selected asset, its capabilities, the page settings, and your role.
| Feature | Purpose | Main visibility condition |
|---|---|---|
| Remote | Open the controller remote session in a new browser tab. | Controller site with a serial number; administrator or installer. |
| Targets | Store production or performance expectations used in comparisons and reports. | Enabled in the page settings for that device and role. |
| Notes and maintenance | Record operational observations and maintenance context. | Contact features enabled for that device and role. |
| Contacts | Associate people and recipient information with the device. | Contact features enabled for that device and role. |
| Documents | Keep device-related documents available from the installation hierarchy. | Document features enabled for that device and role. |

The feature list is device-specific
An inverter, meter, battery, controller site, and portfolio node do not necessarily expose the same tools. This is expected and follows both device capabilities and dashboard configuration.
Notes and maintenance activities keep time-bound operational context next to the asset it describes.
Data streams explain where a measurement comes from and whether it is embedded, summed, averaged, offset, or scaled.
